Our daycare dogs had a blast this past Friday kicking up their paws to the sounds of the 1950s during our very first Sock Hop Dance Party! One of our outside play yards was transformed into a throwback to the era of Doo Wop and poodle skirts with decorations and music from the decade. The dogs were good sports and wore the poodle skirts (handmade specifically for them), scarves and bow ties as they danced, played and posed for pictures.
During the event, Little Dog did the “The Twist” as she attempted to take her poodle skirt off, Tandy danced on her hind legs with one of our staff members, Chewie and Ellie Mae got close during one of the slower numbers and Rosie decided that she liked the 50s wear so much, she wasn’t taking hers off until the end of the dance. Everyone (staff and dogs alike) had a blast!
At the end of the day, the dogs’ paws were tired, our staff had sore faces from all of the laughs and pets in need were helped by all of your generous pet food donations. We can’t wait to do it all again next year! Huge thanks to everyone who took part in this dog-gone good time!
